From the live action to the manga and anime

Netflix's live action covers 16 episodes across 2 seasons and roughly manga chapters 1–154 — about an eighth of the story so far, told several times faster than anywhere else. If you have finished it and want to carry on, this is where each season leaves you.

How exact these numbers are

Approximate, on purpose. The live action is a rewrite rather than a straight adaptation: arcs are reordered, subplots merged and dropped, and characters turn up seasons before the manga introduces them. Nobody publishes a chapter-level mapping for it, so what is stated here is the span of manga each episode moves through — which is exactly what a starting point needs and no more than we can honestly claim.

One consequence worth knowing before you switch. The show brings a few reveals forward that the manga holds back for a long time, so there will be things you already know that the chapter you start at has not said yet. Nothing in the numbers above can warn you about that, and nothing below it will spoil you further.
